Penis lengthening surgery
Up to 5cm more length, for good
Part of every penis sits hidden inside the body. Lengthening surgery releases the ligament that holds it there, so more of it sits on the outside. Minimally invasive, day case and permanent.

Is it for you?
Who lengthening suits
For many men and their partners, how the penis looks day to day matters most. That's where lengthening makes the biggest difference.
Often a good fit if you
- Want more visible length, especially when flaccid
- Want a permanent result with minimal scarring
- Would also like more girth: both can be done together
- Can follow a short stretching routine after surgery
Worth knowing first
- The gain is largest when flaccid; erect gain is smaller
- Results depend on how much of your penis sits inside the body, which your surgeon checks at consultation
- Aftercare matters: stretching improves the result

How it works
Releasing the hidden length
The operation is called ligamentolysis. The suspensory ligaments attach the hidden part of the penis to the pubic bone; they play no part in how the penis works. Releasing some of them lets part of the hidden penis move outside the body.
- Day case under general anaesthetic, about an hour
- Minimal scarring and post-operative discomfort
- Can be combined with girth surgery, scrotal web correction and removal of the fat pad above the penis for more visible length
Results
What you can realistically expect
Your penis itself doesn't change size; more of it sits outside your body. That's why the change is biggest when flaccid. Stretching after surgery improves the result over time.
- 3–5cm (1.5–2in) more length when flaccid
- 0.5–2cm more length when erect, depending on aftercare
- Permanent
- Extra visible length possible with fat pad and scrotal web correction

What to expect
Your treatment, step by step
Clear from the start: what happens, when, and what you need to do.
Video or in clinic. Your surgeon checks how much length is hidden, explains the likely gain and the risks, and gives you a fixed, all-inclusive price.
A healthy diet and exercise, and less smoking and alcohol, help recovery. You'll get fasting instructions for the 6 hours before surgery.
About an hour in theatre under general anaesthetic, then a few hours resting with a nurse before you go home the same day.
A check-up with your surgeon, a dressing change and your detailed aftercare plan.
Mild discomfort for a few days. Most men are back at work after 2–3 days. Gentle stretching starts a few days after surgery, as your surgeon shows you.
Most men can have sex again, unless your surgeon advises otherwise.
Follow-up consultation, with regular check-ins from your surgeon and our team in between.
Risks
Honest about the risks
All surgery carries risk. Your surgeon goes through these with you in detail before you decide.
Common and short-lived
- Swelling for the first days
- Mild pain and discomfort
- A small scar at the incision
Rare
- Bleeding or infection (you'll be given antibiotics to prevent this)
- Damage to nearby tissue, or temporary or permanent numbness of the head
- The penis pulling back in (retraction)
- A result smaller than hoped for

Lengthening FAQ
Is the result permanent?
Yes. And the result usually improves over time if you keep up the stretching routine after surgery.
Why is the erect gain smaller?
Surgery doesn't change the size of the penis itself; it changes how much of it sits outside the body. That shows most when flaccid. Erect gain is usually 0.5–2cm and depends on aftercare.
Will my erections change?
The ligaments that are released play no part in how the penis works. They help hold an erection pointing upwards, so the angle may sit a little lower. Your surgeon will explain this at your consultation.
How long do I need off work?
Most men return to work after 2–3 days; longer if your job is physical.
When can I have sex again?
Usually after 4–5 weeks, unless your surgeon advises otherwise.
Can I add girth at the same time?
Yes. Many men combine lengthening with girth enhancement in one operation.
