Girth enhancement surgery
A thicker penis, using your own fat
Our preferred girth technique: fat taken from your tummy or thighs, purified and injected evenly along the shaft. Natural to the touch, no implant, and permanent for most men.

Is it for you?
Who girth surgery suits
Girth is the most requested enlargement treatment. Your surgeon will confirm whether it's right for you at your consultation.
Often a good fit if you
- Want a thicker penis, flaccid and erect
- Want a permanent result rather than top-ups
- Prefer your own tissue to an implant or synthetic material
- Also want length: it can be combined with lengthening surgery
Probably not for you if you
- Want a quick, reversible change with no surgery: consider fillers
- Can't take a few days off or follow the aftercare plan
- Are unwell on the day; we'll move the date rather than take risks
How it works
Three steps, one hour or two
Performed under general anaesthetic as a day case. How the fat is placed is where surgical experience makes the difference.
Harvest
Fat is gently taken from your tummy or thighs through a tiny incision.
Purify
It's processed to remove everything that isn't healthy fat, so more of it survives.
Sculpt
The fat is injected evenly along the shaft for a natural shape, in proportion to the head.
Our refinements
A very fine injector filters out large fat cells that cause lumps, and placing the fat during an induced erection keeps it even, erect and flaccid.
Results
What you can realistically expect
You'll see the biggest change straight after surgery. Some of it settles as swelling goes down and the body absorbs part of the fat; how much depends on you and on following the aftercare plan.
- Around 30% more girth on average, permanently
- Most men keep around 60% of the immediate gain
- Your own tissue: no implant and nothing to reject
- Minimal scarring

What to expect
Your treatment, step by step
From your first consultation to your final check-up, you'll know exactly what happens and when.
Video or in clinic. Your surgeon assesses you, explains the options and the risks, and gives you a fixed, all-inclusive price.
Very little to do. A healthy diet, exercise and cutting down on smoking and alcohol help recovery. You'll get fasting instructions for the 6 hours before surgery.
About 6 hours from arrival to going home: 1–2 hours in theatre, then 3–4 hours resting with a nurse, something to eat and a check with your surgeon.
A check-up with your surgeon: dressing change, detailed aftercare instructions and time for your questions.
Some swelling and mild discomfort, handled with over-the-counter painkillers. Most men are back at work after 2–3 days. Gentle daily massage starts after a few days.
Most men can have sex again, unless your surgeon advises otherwise.
Follow-up consultation. In between, your surgeon and our patient team check in regularly.
Risks
Honest about the risks
All surgery carries risk. Your surgeon goes through these with you in detail before you decide.
Common and short-lived
- Swelling, which settles over the first days
- Mild pain and discomfort
- A small scar at the incision
- Some of the gain settling over the first months
Rare
- Bleeding or infection (you'll be given antibiotics to prevent this)
- Damage to nearby tissue, or temporary or permanent numbness of the head
- Lumps or uneven results
- A result smaller than hoped for
Techniques compared
Why we prefer fat transfer
We can perform every recognised girth technique. This is our honest view of how they compare.
| Technique | Our view | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Fat transfer (your own fat) | Recommended | Natural, minimally invasive, no rejection risk, short recovery. |
| Fillers (hyaluronic gel) | Recommended | No surgery and reversible, but needs topping up every 12–18 months. |
| Biodegradable scaffold | For some patients | A permanent option for men who aren't suited to fat transfer; done in specially equipped partner clinics. |
| Fat graft wrapped around the shaft | Not recommended | Longer operation, scarring where the graft is taken, higher infection risk, can shrink. |
| Silicone sleeve | Not recommended | Expensive, higher infection risk, less natural feel, can cause shortening or curvature. |

Girth surgery FAQ
Is girth enhancement permanent?
For the vast majority of men, yes. Swelling goes down and the body absorbs some of the injected fat, so most men keep around 60% of the gain they see straight after surgery. Following the aftercare plan makes the biggest difference to how much you keep.
How long will I be at the hospital?
About 6 hours in total: 1–2 hours of surgery under general anaesthetic, then 3–4 hours of rest before you go home or back to your hotel.
How long do I need off work?
Most men return to work after 2–3 days. If your job is physical, you may need longer.
Will it hurt?
Expect mild pain and discomfort, usually handled with over-the-counter painkillers. Some men, especially younger men, feel discomfort with erections for the first few days.
What do I need to do afterwards?
A check-up the day after surgery, then gentle daily massage from a few days in, following your surgeon's instructions. Your surgeon and our patient team stay in touch until your one-month follow-up.
Can I combine it with lengthening?
Yes. Girth and length can be done in the same operation, with one recovery. See penis lengthening surgery.
